Mom’s home!

We haven’t see Princess Buttercup on camera for quite some time. Actually, we haven’t really seen anybody on the Princess Bride cams for a while. But that’s only because all three of our peregrine babies (Vizzini, Fezzik, and Lady Miss Issy) have fledged successfully and are venturing further and further from the tower, exploring for longer and longer!

While they do show up at the tower from time to time, gone are the days of staring, snuggling, and stepping on each other. Now we’re in a more competitive phase where a sibling isn’t seen as something that keeps you warm, but as something that will steal your food.

And so, in this quieter period, it was pretty exciting to catch Princess Buttercup finally showing up back up at the tower, now that the babies are out of the house and the chaos there is subsiding.

Unfortunately, peregrine can see what’s happening at the tower from almost 3 miles away. While Buttercup very quietly tries to sneak into her igloo for a nap, her visit didn’t last more than a few seconds before the babies came screaming in from every direction, ruining the mood.

It so joyous to see them after the heartbreak of the past few years!

it really is, and they’re doing so well. so now they are just back to the regular difficulties of surviving as a first year peregrine!

I just loved this!! Fledgling raptors really do come screaming back to the nest where they were fed for their entire lives whenever they see a parent!!

Say something kind
