A look around town on a smokey, buggy morning

The good news this morning is that the heat has backed off. The bad news is that it has been replaced by bugs and wildfire smoke. We are currently under a red alert, and things are not great out there today. The smell of smoke is noticeable, and the sun has been reduced to a faint orange blob floating in the sky.

Thankfully, I don’t have to destroy my lungs this morning to get a sense of how things are looking out there for some of our favorite animals. And when you can see the bugs swarming on camera, you know it’s bad! Here’s a look around with some updates from Plover Park.

What a fabulous video! thanks for sharing this. I’ve heard from family in both Chicago and New York about how badly they are affected today by the smoky air! 💨
