What’s creepy about this isn’t that weird oystercatcher, standing chest deep in the water for some reason, and staring directly at the camera like a demon zombie, somehow perfectly centering itself in the frame.
It’s the fact that my poor camera is clearly underwater at this point!
Oh no!! I hope the camera is waterproof! You have lost expensive cameras in the past, haven’t you? I had a trail cam watching an area where we left food for one of the eaglets at the 3B nest when it was rehabbed and released. We got the idea from Kathy’s feeding station at Dividing Creek. There is a PSEG nest cam on the tower nest at 3B which showed flood water coming within inches of my camera! I wasn’t worried though, it was not an expensive trail cam.
